Although most new car talks now revolve around the elimination of the internal combustion engine of battery-powered electric vehicles, there are still some original equipment manufacturers who want to satisfy the appetite of our engine enthusiasts. A perfect example is Chevy Performance's new ZZ632/1000 large-cylinder engine-over 1,000 horsepower and 632 cubic inches of fuel consumption!

This week the engine is powered by

We know that crate engines may be a sensitive topic for our crowd, but it is hard to ignore some of the things that OEMs have recently produced. Although this seems to contradict all the promises of shifting to more hybrid and electric vehicles, in particular companies like Dodge and Chevrolet are also increasing their bets on internal combustion engines through products such as Hellephant and COPO's 572 big block.

Chevy Performance has gone a step further now, with the latest 632 cubic inch, 10.35 liter, 1,004 horsepower large Chevrolet. The engine will be exhibited at the SEMA exhibition in 2021. Crate engines like this are constantly evolving, with more innovation, greater power and greater displacement than ever before.

The new Chevrolet Performance ZZ632/1000 Deluxe Big Block Crate engine is no exception. It is the most powerful crate engine in Chevrolet's history. It uses modern and convenient EFI technology and can provide more than 1,000 horsepower with 93 octane pumping gas. It achieved horsepower at 6,600 rpm and provided 876 pound-feet. The torque is 5,600 rpm. Did we mention that these numbers are naturally aspirated?

ZZ632 is a V8 engine, using cast iron, a high deck block with a 4-bolt power cover, and a cylinder bore and stroke of 4.600˝ x 4.750˝. It is the same foundation used on the 572 block, but with more than 0.040˝ drilled holes, the stroke has increased by 3/8 inch. The rotating assembly consists of a forged 4340 steel crankshaft and a forged H-shaped steel rod and a forged aluminum 2618 piston, all of which are internally balanced.

At the top, the 632 has an aluminum expansion port cylinder head with a 70cc chamber and RS-X design. The intake manifold is also made of aluminum and is a high-rise single plane design. The valve mechanism is composed of billet hydraulic roller camshafts, with an intake angle of 270° and an exhaust angle of 287°. The valve lift is 0.780˝ intake and 0.782˝ exhaust.

Speaking of valves, these parts are titanium alloys, the air inlet is 2.450˝, the exhaust port is 1.800˝, and the stem outer diameter is 5/16. The rocker arm is a forged aluminum roller shaft mounted rocker arm with a ratio of 1.8:1.

Other features of the engine include 86 pounds per hour. Fuel injector, 58X crank trigger, coil near plug ignition, aluminum water pump, steel 8-quart oil pan and 4500 throttle body. All of these provide more than 1,000 horsepower at 93 octane and a 12:1 compression ratio, with a maximum speed of 7,000.

With a large amount of after-sales support for the big block, whether you choose to use forced induction or not, it is not difficult for people to push this engine to more than 1,004 horsepower. Thanks to a displacement of nearly 10.4 liters and a fully forged bottom end, this engine is ready to withstand the test of high horsepower.

Therefore, there are many rumors surrounding the price of this 1,000-horsepower 632 cubic inch engine. Chevrolet's MSRP looks to be between $37,000 and $38,000. If you can accept this price, we would love to know that you are ready to put this beast in. It will be available in early 2022.
